Here are some of the people who have faced justice at Teesside Crown Court.

They include a rapist, a child sex offender, a burglar and violent men.

Matthew Bowers, of Amberley Grove, Darlington, was jailed for two years and four months after he admitted attempting to cause / incite a girl 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity and a further charge of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child on June 26 last year. The 30-year-old was also ordered to sign on the sex offenders' register for ten years.

Billy-Joe Parker, of no fixed abode, was jailed for three months in prison after he remained unlawfully at large following his recall to prison. The 24-year-old was missing between March 28, 2023 and May 21 this year in the Darlington area after being recalled to HMP Holme House.

Martin Hayes, of no fixed abode but formerly of Teesside, was jailed for 29 years after he was found guilty of 12 offences including five counts of rape and seven counts of indecent assault. The 62-year-old carried out the offences between the mid-1980s and mid-1990s in the Middlesbrough area. He was also given a restraining order banning contact with the victims and placed of the Sex Offenders Register for life.

Luke Duncan, of McClean Avenue, Dormanstown, Redcar, pleaded guilty to burglary other than dwelling with intent to steal on a property on Lord Street, Redcar on March 21 this year and the theft of £20 worth of cleaning products from Sainsburys on February 3. The 32-year-old also admitted stealing cleaning products from Savers on March 20, stealing £795 worth of sunglasses from Specsavers, stealing alcohol and confectionary worth £252 from Morrisons and an attempted burglary on Heron Foods in Redcar on March 27. He was jailed for a total of 27 months for all offences.

Stuart Pinchbeck, of Park Avenue, Middlesbrough, pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm following an incident on November 27, 2021, in the Redcar area. The 48-year-old was made subject of a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £300 in compensation to his victim.

Michael Walters, of Oxbridge Lane, Stockton, pleaded guilty to intentional strangulation and assault occasioning actual bodily harm following an incident on January 26 in the Loftus area of east Cleveland. The 39-year-old was given a 14-month prison sentence suspended for 18 months. He was also ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work and pay £500 in compensation.
