Consett's McDonald's had a busy reopening day on Wednesday after it opened its doors following a three-month refurbishment.
The Northern Echo can give readers a look inside the refurbished restaurant with exclusive pictures of the new fast food set up.
The overhaul, billed by McDonald's as "Convenience of the Future", includes an improved layout, new customer service technology and seating for 97 people.
Notable changes also include a dedicated entrance for delivery drivers and upgraded production and staff facilities.
The refurbishment was initially planned for October 2023, but faced delays before commencing in March 2024, leaving Consett residents without the American fast food chain for three months.
A McDonald's spokesperson said the store was "super busy" on its reopening day.
It follows the reopening of Wetherspoons in Consett earlier this month after the pub was also closed for refurbishment for a period of months.
