A 23-year-old man has died following a 'stabbing' as another man remains in custody after he was arrested on suspicion of murder.
Emergency services rushed to Wrensfield Road in Stockton yesterday following the incident just before 6.40pm and rushed the 23-year-old to hospital but he died a short time later.
Another man, aged 28, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of murder as police confirm they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
Witnesses at the scene described "shouting" and a commotion following the incident as the road was soon "full of police".
Police and CSI investigators in white suits were spotted at the scene taking photographs of the area in to the night and will remain in the area "for some time".
A full statement from Cleveland Police said: "A 23-year-old man has died following an incident in Stockton yesterday evening, Wednesday 26 June 2024.
"The incident happened in Wrensfield Road shortly before 6.40pm, when the victim was stabbed by another man.

"The 23-year-old victim was taken to hospital, where he sadly died a short time later. A 28-year-old man was arrested shortly after the incident and he is being held in custody on suspicion of murder.
"Officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident. Police will remain at the scene and in the surrounding area for some time while the full circumstances of the incident are established.
