Five cars were damaged and a driver injured after rocks were thrown from a bridge on a busy North East road last night.
Police are appealing for information and any relevant dashcam footage the incident on the Ormesby Cobblestone rail bridge which runs over the A174 at Ormesby, Middlesbrough at around 7.10pm on Tuesday (June 25).
A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "It was reported that a man was throwing large stones at vehicles travelling along the A174.
"Five vehicles were damaged and a driver sustained facial injuries as a result of being struck in the face by a stone which penetrated the windscreen of their vehicle.
"This is an extremely serious incident and officers are urging any witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 119609."
