A biker from County Durham has died after crashing into a petrol pump on a garage forecourt yesterday.
The 21-year-old man, who had been riding along the A1 in Lincolnshire, left the main road onto a slip road at Colsterworth, near Grantham, before colliding with a pump at a BP garage at around 10.45am on Monday (June 24).
A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson said: "A 21-year-old man has died following a collision just off the A1, at Colsterworth.
"Following a call received at 10.35am yesterday (24 June) our officers attended the BP garage. A motorcyclist is believed to have left the main road, travelled down the slip road and then collided with one of the petrol pumps.
"The rider, from the Durham area, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
"Emergency services attended and the road was partially blocked until around 1pm.
The garage was closed for the remainder of the day and was due to be re-opened today.
Police are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to contact them."
