A County Durham man has appeared in court charged with rape.
Twenty-six-year-old Adam Jordan, of College View in Esh Winning, County Durham appeared before Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court on Tuesday (June 25).
He is charged with raping a woman in November last year.

He appeared in court wearing a shirt and tie. No plea was entered and the defendant was granted conditional bail.
Judge Steven Hood told Jordan: “The offence of rape is one which can only be heard in the Crown Court”, as he adjourned the case.
He will appear before Durham Crown Court on July 23 where he will enter either a not guilty or guilty plea.
