A motorcyclist has been seriously injured in a crash on the outskirts of Darlington.
The A167 was closed in Coatham Mundeville at about 7.40pm on Sunday (June 23) evening after a crash between a car and a motorbike.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene and the air ambulance was seen landing a short time later.
Police said the rider of the motorbike was left with serious injuries and he was taken to hospital by road.
A Great North Air Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “On Sunday our critical care team was activated at 7.38pm to reports of a road traffic collision in Coatham Mundeville, Darlington.
“They arrived on scene at 7.47pm and worked alongside the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) to assess and treat a patient.
“The patient was taken to hospital by the NEAS road crew, accompanied by our team.”

A spokesperson for Durham Constabulary added: “Police were called at 7.40pm yesterday (June 23) to a two-vehicle collision in which a motorcyclist suffered serious injuries.
“It happened on the A167 at Coatham Mundeville, near Darlington, and involved a car and a motorbike.
“The rider of the bike suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance.”
