The family of a much-loved Darlington dad-of-two who suddenly passed away earlier this month has paid tribute to the 'caring and loving' man.
Loved ones of Sheldon Kelly have described him as the “best dad” and someone who was “always smiling” in a heart-warming tribute.
Sheldon passed away suddenly on June 4 aged just 29, leaving behind two children, Sheldon Jr, five, and Lorena, aged two and wife, Lisa Marie, 28.
Lisa Marie, who was with Sheldon for 14 years, told The Northern Echo he “took a piece of her with him” when he passed.
She said: “Sheldon was the best dad to our children and the best husband. Anything he did, he did for his family.
“He was such a caring, loving, person. The past few weeks have just been heartbreaking. He definitely took a piece of me with him.
“It’s not goodbye, it’s I’ll see you soon my best friend.”
Sheldon’s brother-in-law, Downy Patterson, 17, said Sheldon was in his life as long as he can remember.

“From what I can remember, he has always been there – like a big brother to me. He was a loving and caring person and would do anything for anyone.
“Sheldon was always smiling – a bit of a charmer. He was definitely one in a million.”
Sheldon's funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 26, at St Cuthberts Church in Darlington at 12pm.
The family of Sheldon have said that everyone is welcome to come and pay their respects, although they have requested that no children attend.
