Police are appealing to try to identify victims of up to 14 suspected sexual offences in the Hartlepool area after a man was arrested and charged.

Cleveland Police said a man was charged with four sexual offences after reports that four females were assaulted in broad daylight on residential streets in the Hartlepool area on Thursday, May 30 and Friday, May 31, in daylight hours.

A police spokesperson said: "The 34-year-old man from Hartlepool appeared at Teesside Magistrates Court on Monday, June 3, and is remanded in custody until a further hearing in July 2024.

Officers investigating the case are appealing for anyone who believes they may have been a victim of this series of offences in Hartlepool, to contact Cleveland Police on 101, quoting incident reference number SE24100860.
