Shocking pictures have emerged of a County Durham home which has been left decimated following an explosion in the early hours of the morning.
The home, on Coronation Terrace in Willington, is unrecognisable following the incident at around 2am today (June 24).
Emergency services including police and the fire service remain at the scene tackling smouldering flames inside the home.
It is understood that surrounding homes have been evacuated but the cause of the explosion is not yet known.
Durham Constabulary, County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service and the North East Ambulance Service have all ben contacted for more information.
