A man found at an address in Stockton after concern was expressed for his welfare, has since died, police confirmed today.
The death of the man, in his 30s, is, at the moment, being treated as, “non-suspicious” by investigators.
The Cleveland force said it received a “report of concern” for the safety of a man at a property on Castlereagh Road, off Durham Road, in the Newtown area, at about 10:35am today, (Saturday, June 22).
Upon arrival of emergency services, a cordon was put up around the property as local people emerged from their homes, unsure what was taking place.
A man in his thirties was found inside the property, but a police statement said: “Sadly, he later died”.
The statement added: “His death is currently being treated as non-suspicious.
“The man’s family have been informed and our thoughts remain with them at this extremely difficult time.
“A file will be prepared for the Coroner.”
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to a private address in Stockton at 10.54am this morning (22 June).

"We dispatched three resources and requested support from Great North Air Ambulance Service."
Cleveland Fire Brigade said it was called to the scene as a precaution, but the crew was stood down after initial police inquiries at the address.
The cordon was subsequently removed, while police inquiries were concluded at the address.
