A new fish and chips shop will be bringing their talents to Darlington Indoor Market as they prepare to move into the old fishmonger unit.
Marketplace Fish & Chips is the latest business to join the venue – with the market hailing the new culinary option as a “nostalgic addition” for their older customer base.
The new stall is owned by Adam Gilmore who approached the market with a concept of a traditional fish and chip shop after noticing a gap in the market.
A spokesperson for Darlington Market said: “After a few conversations, we agreed that the old FishMonger unit would be the perfect place for this and be an excellent addition to an already thriving collection of Street Food Vendors.

“Fish and Chips appeals to a demographic of all ages, but will be a nostalgic addition for our older customer base and help support our traditional trader base.
“Marketplace Fish & Chips will be the latest addition to The Collective at Darlington Market, which will see the addition of 13 new artisanal kiosks and house a selection of ‘makers’ and ‘creators’ that will create new life in Darlington Market and support the traditional trader base, as well as the thriving hospitality venues such as The Vault, Haus Der Bratwurste, and Banqo, that have driven the footfall to give retailers the confidence to reignite our high street.”
They added they are weeks away from launching a number of new retails stalls at the market.
