Here are a few of the people who were sentenced at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ court in the last week.

The eight offenders to have been sentenced include those convicted of drink driving, criminal damage and assaulting a police officer.

John Wilson, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in Durham Market Place on May 2 this year. The 37-year-old also admitted failing to surrender to custody following his arrest. He was given an absolute discharge for both offences.

Savanna Condon, of Nightingale Avenue, Darlington, pleaded guilty to causing actual bodily harm following an incident in Darlington on March 2. The 38-year-old was given a 12-month community order, told to attend 15 rehabilitation activity requirement days and carry out 180 hours of unpaid. She was also ordered to pay £199 in court costs.

Toni Gowland, of Haughton Road, Darlington, pleaded guilty to assaulting an emergency worker on April 18 on Edmund Street, Darlington and common assault on a police officer. The 31-year-old was ordered to pay a total of £250 in compensation to both victims and ordered to pay £165 towards court costs.

Kyle Swainston, of Burnett Drive, Darlington, pleaded guilty to drink driving when he was stopped in his Audi A5 in the town on May 25. The 28-year-old was banned from driving for 23 months and fines £1,166 and ordered to pay £551 in court costs.

Connor Learoyd, of Huxley Grove, Darlington, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly after he was arrested near his home on June 1. The 29-year-old was given a 12 month conditional discharge.

Alfred Johnson, of Killinghall Street, Darlington, pleaded guilty to causing criminal damage when he damaged a Vauxhall Astra on June 6. The 47-year-old was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £200 in compensation. He was also ordered to pay £111 in court costs.

Kevin Warne, of Eastbourne Road, Darlington, pleaded guilty to attempting to burgle Boots in Darlington on June 16. The 33-year-old was jailed for 12 weeks and ordered to pay £300 in compensation.

Maria King, of Fenby Avenue, Darlington, admitted driving a Vauxhall Mokka whilst unfit through drugs when she was stopped on Neasham Road, Darlington, on December 18 last year. The 44-year-old was banned from driving for 12 months and fined £120. She was also ordered to pay £133 in court costs.
