Tributes have been paid to a "beloved" grandad who died following a crash near Easington Village.

Motorcyclist Colin Ede was travelling on the A1086 Northbound slip road when he collided with a lamppost just before 3.45pm on Tuesday afternoon.

The 66-year-old was tragically pronounced dead at the scene, despite the best efforts of emergency services. Mr Ede’s children, Natalie and Richard, have now released a heartbreaking tribute, saying he passed away "doing what he loved."

They said: "It is with great sadness that I write this post. "Yesterday, our beloved dad, Colin Ede, grandad to Jacob, Isabelle, George and Olivia, partner of Sue, passed away in a road traffic accident, doing what he loved, riding his motorbike.
