Police have closed a busy road near a hospital in Middlesbrough following a serious crash this afternoon.
Emergency services were alerted to a single-vehicle collision on Marton Road, Middlesbrough, at 2pm.
Cleveland Police and ambulance crews attended the incident, as one person made their own way to the nearby hospital.
A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "Officers have closed Marton Road near James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough following a serious collision.
"Please avoid the area whilst the incident is dealt with."
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called just before 2pm to a road traffic collision at the junction of Aldergrove Road and Broadwell Road, Middlesbrough.
"However, no resources were required and a patient made their own way to hospital."
