One person has been airlifted to hospital following a devastating house explosion in Middlesbrough.
Emergency services have swarmed Kirkland Walk in Middlesbrough this afternoon (June 18) after the explosion which has destroyed a home.
Pictures show the front of the property reduced to rubble as debris lines the street.
The air ambulance confirmed one person has been taken to hospital.
A North East Air Ambulance spokesperson said: "Our critical care team was activated at 12.46pm to an incident in Middlesbrough.
"We had two doctors and two paramedics respond to the scene and they worked alongside the North East Ambulance to assess and treat a patient.
"The patient is being airlifted to hospital."
Cleveland Fire Brigade have warned the public to stay away from the area.
A spokesperson said: “We are currently (18/06/2024 @12:42) dealing with an incident on Kirkland Walk in Middlesbrough. Please avoid the area if you can.”
