Riverside Stadium played host to hundreds of people taking part in two charity runs on Father’s Day.
The Ali Brownlee 5k and 2k brought people to Middlesbrough to run with their Dad, for their Dad or in memory of their Dad.
Taking place at the home of Middlesbrough FC, where broadcaster Alastair Brownlee commentated for over 30 years, the annual event honours his impact on the local community.
The events kicked off with the 5k run which saw the track wind through Windward Way, Middlesbrough College and onto Cleveland Street, passing by the iconic Transporter Bridge and Vulcan Street before ending at the Riverside Stadium pitch.
Participants were encouraged to fundraise for their preferred charity or for the partner charities of the event - the Jane Tomlinson Appeal and the Great North Air Ambulance.
The Men's 5k race was won by Lewis Gamble-Thompson securing first place with a time of 15.34, while Kate Storey crossed the women's finish line first in 18.27.
Upon reaching the finish line, participants received an array of post-run awards, including bespoke medals and a finisher's t-shirt.
Middlesbrough Mayor Chris Cooke said: "The Ali Brownlee 5k and 2k event was an amazing event today in Middlesbrough.
"It was really well attended and supported so many good causes.
"Thank you to all those who attended and those who came to show support."
