A man found 'seriously unwell' at an address in Hartlepool has died, with two people arrested.

Cleveland Police confirmed they were called by to an address on Wynyard Road in Hartlepool at around 12:45pm on Monday (June 17) to reports of a man “who was seriously unwell.”

The man, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene and his death is being treated as ‘unexplained.’

A man, 45, and a woman, 34, have been arrested in connection with the death and are being questioned by police as enquiries remain ongoing.

The man’s next of kin have been informed and a post-mortem examination will be carried out.

A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: “Police were called by ambulance service colleagues to an address on Wynyard Road in Hartlepool at around 12.45pm yesterday (Monday 17 June) as they were tending to a man who was seriously unwell.

“Very sadly the 28-year-old man was pronounced deceased at the scene. His death is currently being treated as unexplained. His next of kin have been notified and a post-mortem examination will take place.

“A 45-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with the man’s death and they are being questioned by detectives from Hartlepool CID while enquiries continue.
