Police are appealing for information after an elderly man was hospitalised outside of a Sainsbury's in Eston.
The incident happened at 5.20pm on June 15 outside the shop on Bankfields Road.
The victim was assaulted by another man and he suffered serious facial injuries which needed hospital treatment.
Police believe that a number of members of the public were in the area at the time.
They are appealing for information, doorbell, dashcam or CCTV footage as an investigation continues into an assault which left a 62-year-old man receiving hospital treatment.

A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "It happened at around 5.20pm on Saturday 15th June outside the Sainsbury’s store on Bankfields Road, Eston when the victim was assaulted by another man and sustained serious facial injuries which were treated in hospital overnight.
"Police believe a number of members of the public were in the area at the time and would ask them, as well as anyone else with information/footage to contact Cleveland Police on the 101 number quoting ref 112273.
