A teenager has been charged following an alleged hit-and-run incident outside a North East nightclub.
Cleveland Police confirmed they had traced a 19-year-old they wanted to speak to about the incident outside a club in Redcar. The 19-year-old was arrested in the early hours of yesterday (Saturday, June 15).
A vehicle was later seized in Liverton Mines, near Saltburn. The teenager is due to appear in court on Monday, charged with a series of offences.
A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "In the early hours of yesterday (Saturday June 15) officers from the Matrix Team identified and located a man who they wanted to speak to in connection with an alleged hit-and-run incident outside a club in Redcar.
"A vehicle was seized in Liverton Mines as part of ongoing enquiries.
"A 19-year-old man was arrested and interviewed, and in the early hours of today he was charged with attempted GBH, dangerous driving, driving with out a licence, driving without insurance, and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.
"He has been remanded and is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Monday June 17.
