A global beauty brand is about to set up home in two of the North East's biggest shopping centres.

Sephora has announced a branch is set to open in the Metrocentre in the next few months.

The skincare, makeup, haircare and fragrance brand will also be opening a store in Eldon Square, a shopping centre in Newcastle.

These will only be the fourth and fifth Sephora stores located in England,  two shops in London and one in Manchester.

On the Metrocentre website, Sephora announced the new arrival, saying: "The world's worst kept secret is finally out... Renowned beauty retailer Sephora is coming to Metrocentre!

"We believe that beauty thrives in diversity and discovery. Our purpose is to expand the way the world sees beauty by empowering the extraordinary in each of us.

"From the very beginning, our founder believed that Sephora could not only disrupt beauty retail but that it would have a positive impact on the world."

An Eldon Square spokesperson said: "The global beauty brand has over 2,500 stores worldwide and we are proud to announce the arrival of the fourth UK store in Newcastle city centre, this Autumn.

"Spanning an expansive 6,600 square feet, the new store will showcase a stunning double shop front on St. Andrew’s Way, inviting beauty enthusiasts into a world of endless possibilities and redefining the beauty landscape in the region.
