The six candidates standing for election in the Easington constituency, County Durham, have announced their campaigns to voters.

Stephen Ashfield, Green
I am deeply committed to sustainable and inclusive growth. As a long-term resident of County Durham, my experience in local governance and environmental advocacy drives my dedication to enhancing services, promoting green jobs, and pioneering eco-friendly initiatives.
I am determined to improve public transportation, support renewable energy projects, increase local green spaces, and ensure affordable housing. Understanding the specific challenges and opportunities in East Durham, I advocate for policies that prioritise community-focused development and environmental sustainability. A vote for me is a commitment to a thriving, green future for East Durham.
Mary Cartwright, North East Party
I've worked for 33 years voluntarily in our local area, as a town councillor, and school governor, also running a local charity to support families escaping domestic violence, homelessness, crime, veterans, and mental health.
- Ran a School Uniform Recycle Scheme and Christmas Toys Recycle Scheme, with donations from wonderful residents.
- Fought against NHS closures.
- Battling for ALL Towns and villages, across the Easington constituency.
- Standing up for the people in Parliament.
- To batter on the doors of Downing Street and ministers' offices until they attend to our concerns.
- Tackle poverty.
- Lobby to scrap the outdated and unfair council tax with a Fair Property Tax.
Tony Ferguson, Liberal Democrat
The Liberal Democrats are offering change - by being honest with Easington's voters about the state of the NHS and our care system under the Conservative government. We all know Labour MPs take for granted that they always win in Easington, but Liberal Democrats would hold them to account by pushing for a GP Appointment Guarantee.
We'd ensure a GP appointment phone line 24/7, with appointments within 7 days or 24 hours for emergencies. That will be funded by reversing cuts to taxes on the big banks.
Joanne Howey, Conservative
I am honoured to have been chosen as the Conservative candidate for Easington and am deeply committed to serving the people of this community.
I have a passion for making a difference and will work tirelessly to ensure that Easington’s voice is heard in Westminster.
Together, we can achieve great things and create a better future for all.
Grahame Morris, Labour
After 14 years of Conservative mismanagement, our communities, family finances, the economy, and public services are struggling.
We need change to build a better future for Britain. From filling potholes to putting police on the streets, we can rebuild our country.
The NHS is in Labour’s DNA. We created it, saved it, and Labour will get the NHS back on its feet by addressing the Tory waiting list crisis.
Labour will build a better future with 6,500 new teachers, affordable homes, and GB Energy, a clean energy power company to cut bills and boost energy security.
Change is possible with your vote. Vote Labour on Thursday, July 4.
Lynn Murphy, Reform
As a resident of the Easington Constituency, I have witnessed the gradual deterioration of public services over the years. Unfulfilled promises have led to frustration within our formerly close-knit community.
As a mother of two, I am motivated by the desire to provide the best for our children and ensure that everyone has the same opportunities I had while growing up. I have taken the initiative to make a difference, and restore the sense of community we once enjoyed. My goal is to create an environment where everyone can thrive and pursue their aspirations in life.
