Five County Durham drivers have been fined in court this week for offences ranging from speeding, not having insurance to failing to give information to police.
All five of the defendants appeared at Peterlee Magistrates' Court.
Five County Durham drivers fined heavily in court:
Ellis Coburn, 29, of Hartside View in Durham, pleaded guilty to failing to stop a mechanically propelled vehicle when required by a constable or traffic warden, using a motor vehicle on a road without third-party insurance, and using a handheld mobile phone while driving a motor vehicle on a road.
These offences took place on December 28, 2023 in Durham.
He was fined a total of £460, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £184, and ordered to pay costs of £90.
His driving record was endorsed with six points for each of the two insurance-related offences, and his licence was endorsed for the offence involving the mobile phone.
Stuart Thomas Ardle, 52, of Friars Row in Durham, admitted to exceeding a speed limit of 30mph on a restricted road on November 4, 2023 in Crook, County Durham.
He was fined £353, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £141, and ordered to pay costs of £90.
His driving record was endorsed with four points.
John Lee Sutherland, 33, of Princess Street in Bishop Auckland, was found guilty of using a motor vehicle on a road without third-party insurance.
The offence occurred on 26th January 2023 in Bishop Auckland.
He was fined £660, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £264, and ordered to pay costs of £650 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
His driving record was endorsed with six points.
Lewis Abbott, 19, of Heather Lane in Crook, Durham, pleaded guilty to use of a motor vehicle on a road without third-party insurance on 14th January 2024.
He was fined £256, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £102, and ordered to pay costs of £90.

Terry James, 38, of Coopers Close in Thornley, Durham, was found guilty of exceeding a speed limit of 30mph on a restricted road on 3rd November 2023 in Wingate, County Durham.
He was fined £440, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £176, and ordered to pay costs of £90.
His driving record was endorsed with four points.
