Ninja Warrior has confirmed the opening date for its new Teesside Park venue.
The long-teased attraction will bring a replica of the ITV show’s obstacle course to Teesside and will open to punters on July 14.
Bosses are promising an “action-packed experience for all ages” with a “mix of adrenalin-fuelled obstacle courses and giant inflatable runs”.
Spanning more than 28,000sq ft, the former Rainbow Casino unit at the retail park which has sat closed since 2016, will be filled with obstacle courses, a giant inflatable run, and more.
It will also allow visitors to take on the warped wall, which first featured in the Japanese version of the hit show.
The venue will be officially opened by hosts of the prime-time TV show Ben Shepherd and Chris Kamara at an event on July 12, two days before the venue opens to the public.
Middlesbrough-born Chris Kamara (Kammy) and Ben Shepherd said: “We are thrilled to be part of the grand opening of Ninja Warrior UK Teesside.
“It's always exhilarating to witness the spirit of adventure and determination that defines the Ninja Warrior UK courses, and we know this new venue promises to deliver just that. We can’t wait to see the North East Ninjas take on the challenges and conquer the course like true champions.”
Kammy added: “For me, it's especially exciting to be back home and opening a venue so close to my hometown, Middlesbrough. I know that the North East will absolutely love what Ninja Warrior UK is bringing and will undoubtedly amaze me with what they can conquer on the courses!”
Fans can win the chance to meet the pair including local legend Kammy and Ben at the launch event with a competition running on the Teesside-venue’s Instagram and Facebook pages, with ten pairs of tickets up for grabs.
The venue will also be a dedicated area for under fours or ‘young ninjas’, a café, a viewing area and party rooms.
