A newly opened Durham hotel is on the hunt for a head of dog satisfaction - do you think your pet is up to the task of keeping people's beloved pooches happy on their holidays?

The Super 8, by Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, opened in Durham last month, and they’re now on the hunt for a canine to lead their customer experience team.

Based at Roadchef’s Durham motorway services on the A1(M), the candidate will focus on reducing travel stress for dogs on the move.

Along with two other dog satisfaction associates, the successful dog will be invited with their owner to the opening to review the experience.

The new appointment will work with the kitchen team on treat innovation, a walking programme to minimise travel stress and housekeeping to meet the comfort needs of four-legged guests travelling up and down the country during long journeys.

Along with two other dog satisfaction associates, the shortlisted dog and its owner will be invited to stress-test the new hotel. The valuable feedback will help improve the venue’s offering as a place for pups to rest, refuel and recharge.

Dogs can apply for the role here.

Laura Bunn, HR Director at Roadchef, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned four-legged traveller to join Roadchef as we grow our motorway service accommodation across the country.

"We are committed to supporting Britain’s dogs on their travels, and this latest Super 8 hotel provides a much-welcomed place for canines and their owners to relax.

"Having an experienced team member on board will ensure we successfully cater to dogs and their owners and minimise the stress of short and long car journeys.”

Close to the Beamish Museum, Durham Cathedral, and the University of Durham, the Super 8 hotel in Durham is located halfway between Sunderland and Darlington on the A1. The hotel offers comfortable accommodations at an affordable rate, with transport links to the city centre and Durham train station.

The hotel is part of the Wyndham’s Green Certificate programme and guests can expect minimal single-plastic use at the hotel, on-site wildlife-friendly habitats and EV charging.
