A woman was punched repeatedly in the face during a bar attack over the weekend that left her with a black eye and swelling to her face, as police confirm that a suspect has been arrested.
The incident happened at The Lodge Bar on Church Street in Hartlepool at about 12.30am on Saturday (March 30).
Police are still investigating the alleged assault, where the victim was punched in the face several times leaving her with swelling and a black eye.

A 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assault and bailed pending further enquiries.
Police have now asked for witnesses to come forward to help its investigation.
