A man has been left in hospital after a serious assault on Saturday evening (June 8).
A man was last night assaulted on Hart Lane, in Hartlepool, at around 6.45 pm, near to the junction of Serpentine Road.
In the assault, the 39-year-old man sustained a serious head injury, and was taken to James Cook University Hospital.
Now, Cleveland Police have appealed who might have seen the incident, or who might have footage, to come forward and help with their enquiries.
A spokesperson for the force said: "Police are appealing for CCTV and dashcam footage following an incident on Hart Lane in Hartlepool this evening, Saturday, June 8.
"At around 6.45pm, a man was assaulted near to the junction with Serpentine Road.

"The 39-year-old man sustained a serious head injury and was taken to James Cook University Hospital.
"It is believed that there were lots of vehicles around at the time which may have dashcam footage of the incident, or nearby households may have Ring doorbell or CCTV which have caught the incident on camera.
"Please call 101 if you have footage or witnessed the incident, quoting reference SE24107425."
