A woman has been arrested on suspicion of driving over the alcohol limit after a car overturned on a North East road.
Northumbria Police have confirmed they received a report of a car crashing into a number of vehicles before overturning on Rodney Close in Ryhope, Sunderland shortly before 7:30am today (June 7).
They confirmed one person is believed to have suffered non-serious injuries.
They confirmed a woman, 19, was arrested on suspicion of driving while above the legal limit for alcohol, and remains in custody.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “Shortly before 7.30am today (Friday), we received a report of a road traffic collision on Rodney Close, in the Ryhope area of Sunderland.
“It was reported that a vehicle had collided with a number of other vehicles before overturning.

“Emergency services attended and one person is believed to have sustained non-serious injuries.
“Officers have arrested a woman – aged 19 – on suspicion of driving while above the legal limit for alcohol.
“She is currently in police custody.”
