Paving work has started on a North East street as a new urban park takes form.
Stockton Borough Council have confirmed paving work has started on Finkle Street in the town centre.
They have confirmed the works will take place in front of the buildings, while access will be maintained at all times.
They added the work will complement the newly created Finkle Square.
A SBC spokesperson said: “Paving work has begun on Finkle Street, which will show the first visual signs of the Stockton Waterfront urban park in place.
“The initial paving works will take place in front of the buildings on Finkle Street, with access maintained at all times.

“The work to Finkle Street will complement the newly created Finkle Square in the urban park, which will be the main arrival point from the centre of Stockton High Street.
“All businesses remain open as usual on Finkle Street during the improvement works.
“Shop local and support our wonderful small independent stores.”
