A man has been charged in connection with the death of a dog walker and his pet, police have revealed.
Craig Dixon, 39, was killed in a road accident in Guisborough in December 2022.
He had been walking his dog along Westgate when both him and his pet were struck by a Citroen C3, at around 4.40 pm, on Friday, December 3.
Despite the best efforts of members of the public and ambulance services, Mr Dixon was pronounced dead shortly after in hospital.
His beloved dog Duchess also died in the incident.

Now, a 40-year-old driver, has been charged with causing death by careless driving.
A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: "A 40-year-old man has been charged with causing death by careless driving, in connection with the death of Craig Dixon and his dog on Westgate in Guisborough on Friday 2nd December 2022."
He is due to appear at appear at Teesside Magistrates’ Court on Friday, June 21.
