A drunken woman who kicked off when police were called to deal with her erratic behaviour has admitted two counts of assault.
Nicole Kirby kicked one officer to the leg and shoulder before repeatedly kneeing another one when they tried to arrest her on suspicion of common assault.
Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court heard how the 27-year-old was laid on the floor inside a house in Shildon when they arrived on the scene.
Paul Doney, prosecuting, said some women were outside the property after Kirby had been ‘kicking off’ in the early hours of May 19 before she assaulted the two officers.
He said: “Officers have attended where they have seen a female laid flat out on the floor. She was arrested on suspicion of common assault.
“She kicked one officer to the leg and shoulder. The defendant is then restrained on the bed.
“The defendant repeatedly used her knee to strike a special constable to the right side of his torso.”
Kirby, of Northgate, Darlington, pleaded guilty to two charges of assaulting an emergency worker.

Amrit Jandoo, mitigating, said his client had no recollection of the incident and urged the court to request a pre-sentence report for her.
“She can’t explain why she has behaved in that way,” he said. “She is working full time and has not been in trouble for a number of years.
“This is an isolated incident.”
District Judge Marie Mallon adjourned the case until July 2 to allow time for a pre-sentence report to be completed.
