Neighbourhood wardens have released images of dangerous drug paraphernalia strewn on the ground at the back of a Bishop Auckland road frequented by children.

The warden from Durham County Council's south team discovered used needles on the ground at the rear of Leeholme Road in Coundon.

Facebook post officers said: "These used needles have been removed and safely disposed of and are now out of the reach of children and animals in the local area.

"Children are known to frequent this area, so please ensure all children are aware of what to look out for and report them immediately to us at the council, and we will remove them safely.
