A trial date has been fixed for a man accused of trying to kill a woman by stabbing her several times.
David Fletcher, who is 61, is accused of attacking the woman, who is in her 30s, in the Gilesgate area of Durham.
Emergency services were called to Churchill Square just before 8pm on Thursday, May 2.

Fletcher, of Dean Road, South Shields, appeared at Teesside Crown Court today. (Monday, June 3)
He is also charged with possession of a bladed article in a public place and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He has been remanded into custody and a trial date at the same court has been fixed for October 28.
