A manhunt is underway, after a notorious gangster absconded from a prison in Yarm.

Police have appealed for the public's help in tracking down Daniel Gee, from Liverpool, who absconded from Kirklevington Prison on Monday, May 27.

Gee, 44, was a leading member of a powerful Everton gang that turned the Grizedale estate into a 24-hour open-air drug market. He was jailed indefinitely in 2010.

A secret probe caught him conspiring to buy guns and threatening to kill a teenager.

Cleveland Police has made a public appeal to trace the violent convict.

Daniel is described as a white male, large build, around 6ft tall and bald.
