A 45-year-old man has sadly died after emergency services were alerted to two people who had become "unwell" over the weekend.
Emergency services were in attendance on Blackett Street in Newcastle City Centre just after 10am on May 25 after a concerned call about two men who had "become unwell".
The two were rushed to hospital and one was later discharged but the other sadly passed away.
Police say there are no suspicious circumstances around the man's death.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “Shortly before 10am on Saturday (May 25), we received via the ambulance service a report of concern for two males who had become unwell while on Blackett Street, in Newcastle city centre.
“Emergency services attended and the two men were taken to hospital for treatment.
“One of the men was later discharged.

“Sadly, the other man – aged 45 – passed away in hospital yesterday (Tuesday).
“His next of kin have been informed.
“There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances around the man’s death and a report will be prepared for the coroner.”
