An appeal has been launched after public toilets at a County Durham park were damaged.

Durham Police are appealing for more information following criminal damage to the public toilets at Waterside Park in Stanhope on Thursday (May 23).

They confirmed the toilets will remain closed until repairs have taken place.

A Durham Police spokesperson said: “Weardale Police are appealing for information following criminal damage on the evening of Thursday 23rd May to the public toilets situated at Waterside Park (next to the open-air swimming pool) in Stanhope.

“The toilets will remain closed until repairs have taken place.
