Darlington Council has announced that Barmpton Lane on the outskirts of town will be closed for resurfacing next month.

It will be shut off from 7.30am to 6pm on June 3 to 7 and again on Monday, June 10.

All vehicles will be removed from the lane between 7.30am and 6pm.

Access for residents will be restricted during these times.

Residents have been told that if they require unrestricted access they must park away from Barmpton Lane.

A Darlington Council spokesperson said: "During the road closure the bus stop at Beech Road will remain open but all other bus stops on Barmpton Lane will be closed.

"The frequency of the bus service will be reduced to one per hour from 7.30am to 6pm. Visit www.connectteesvalley.com for more information.

"Blairs Garden Centre will be open for business as usual during the works.

"Access will be via the A1150 Monday 3 to Thursday 6 June and Monday 10 June.
