One person has been hospitalised after a car and police dog vehicle crashed on a busy North East A road yesterday.
The crash, which involved a silver Ford Mondeo and a Matrix dog vehicle took place just after 4pm on bank holiday Monday (May 27).
The two crashed on the A66 close to the southbound A19 slip road.
No police officer nor police dog sustained any injuries.
Now, police have issued an appeal for witnesses, information and dashcam footage in relation to the crash.
A Cleveland Police statement says: "We are appealing for witnesses, especially any drivers with dashcam footage, as enquiries continue into a collision involving a Matrix dog vehicle .
"It happened on the A66 westbound near the A19 south off slip road just before 4pm yesterday (Monday 27th May) and involved the police vehicle and a silver Ford Mondeo.

"A female passenger in the Mondeo sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital as a precaution.
"There were no injuries to any police officer or police dog.
