Police have confirmed the arrest of a man who was allegedly banging on the door of a house in a Darlington neighborhood yesterday (Sunday, May 26).
Officers were called to an incident in Headlam Road where a man was brought to the ground and arrested by several police officers.
The incident was captured by a eyewitness, with video footage showing officers restraining a a suspect. Residents gathered close by and watched as police arrested him.
A Durham Police spokesperson said: "Police were called shortly after 10.45am yesterday (May 26) following reports that an intoxicated man was banging on the door of a house in Headlam Road, Darlington.

"Officers attended and arrested a 32-year-old man at the scene.
"He was subsequently charged with being drunk and disorderly and resisting an officer in the execution of their duty.
"He was released on bail to appear at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court on June 6."
