This is the moment a man was brought to the ground and arrested by several police officers in a Darlington residential street this morning (Sunday, May 26).
Residents were shocked to see several police vehicles converge on Headlam Road as officer restrained the man and handcuffed him before taking him away.
An eyewitness said that five police cars and two vans were on the scene, while video footage shows officers holding the suspect on the ground.
Residents gathered close by and watched as police arrested the man, who could be heard groaning as he grappled with officers.

The nature of the incident and the reason for his arrest is not known.
