Here are a few of the people who were sentenced at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ court this week.

Ten people sentenced, includes results for those convicted drink driving, shoplifting, threatening behaviour and criminal damage.

Ian Duncan, of Park Place, Darlington, was fined £466 for assaulting a police officer on May 5 in Darlington. The 39-year-old also admitted using threatening or abusive words during the incident. He was also ordered to make a contribution to court costs.

Stacey Hunter, of  St. Pauls Road, Trimdon Colliery, County Durham, was banned from driving for six months after admitting driving whilst disqualified in Eldon on May 7. The 40-year-old was also fined £200 and ordered to make a contribution to court costs.

Craig Rawnsley, of Eldon Street, Darlington, was banned from driving for three years when he was spotted while over the drink drive limit on Chandos Street, Darlington, on May 10. The 37-year-old was also ordered to make a contribution to court costs.

John Shield, of Willow Road East, Darlington, was banned from driving for 17 months after admitting drink driving on Stooperdale Avenue, Darlington, on May 9. The 49-year-old was also ordered to make a contribution to court costs.

Simon Robinson, of Brougham Street, Darlington, three counts of shoplifting when he stole cans of beer and a bottle of wine from shops in the town this month. The 40-year-old was ordered to pay compensation to the businesses.

Lara Moss, of Grange Road, Darlington, pleaded guilty to handling stolen goods and failing to answer bail. The 34-year-old admitted receiving alcohol and a clear zip bag containing a quantity of pound coins and a £5 note belonging to Dinsdale Golf Club from April last year. She was ordered to pay £100 in compensation.

Logan Hamilton, of Garburn Place, Newton Aycliffe, pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis and driving over the permitted drug driving limit on November 7 last year. The 20-year-old was banned from driving for 12 months and fined £120. The drugs were confiscated and destroyed.

Kyle Jobling, of Oaklea, Shildon, pleaded guilty to failing to stop when told to be a police officer, driving without due car and attention, driving without insurance and a licence. The 20-year-old was fined £120 and had his licence endorsed with nine penalty points as a result of his driving on MAy 12 on Redworth Road, Shildon.

Andrew Bowes, of Silkin Way, Newton Aycliffe, at admitted committing affray on Walcher Road, Newton Aycliffe, on January 30 this year. The 37-year-old also pleaded guilty to causing criminal damage when he smashed windows of a property on the same street. He was given a 12-month community order and made subject of an alcohol treatment programme and ordered to attend 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days.

Arron Mills, of Durham Road, Coatham Mundeville, Darlington, admitted failing to provide a specimen for analysis when he was stopped by police in Spennymoor on April 11 for driving without due care and attention. The 38-year-old was banned from driving for two years and ordered to make a contribution towards court costs and fined £200.
