Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will finally be arriving in the North East this week after a 12-year wait.

It comes as the Born in the USA star returns to Europe with a 22-show stadium run.

Springsteen’s Stadium of Light tour date in Sunderland is the first time he has been back in the region since 2012, when his Wrecking Ball Tour arrived in Wearside.

There is no confirmed support act for Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band at the Sunderland show.

Unfortunately, all hospitality tickets for Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band are sold out.

A “handful” of general sale tickets were reported as “still available” through Ticketmaster on the Sunderland AFC website, but they are currently sold out at the time of writing.

Bag rules and prohibited items for Bruce Springsteen at Stadium of Light

Those attending Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band's performance in the North East should be aware of the stadium's bag policy restrictions.

All ticket holders will be prohibited from bringing any bag into the stadium unless it adheres to the regulations outlined, states the Sunderland AFC website.

“Any bags not adhering to these restrictions will be refused entry. All items and bags carried by attendees will be inspected upon entry.

Prohibited items

The Sunderland AFC website asks people attending the show to not bring any of the following with you as you will not be allowed to enter the site if any of these items are found in your possession:

“Alcohol, Bottles, Cans, Cameras (DSLR/SLR) with detachable lens, Chairs, Flags with poles, Flares / distress flares / smoke flares, Food, Glass, Knives, Liquids (over 100ml), Illegal substances (drugs), Laser pens, Megaphones, Professional audio-visual recording equipment, Pushchairs/prams, Selfie Sticks, Smoke bombs / canisters, Large Umbrellas (small telescopic umbrellas are permitted), Weapons.”

Can you park at Sunderland Stadium of Light for Bruce Springsteen?

There is no public parking available at the Stadium of Light and parking immediately around the venue is also “extremely” restricted.

However, there is “ample” car parking in the city centre which is a short walk from the venue.

The Sunderland AFC website says: “Residential streets in the vicinity of the Stadium are also subject to parking permit restrictions.

“Roads immediately surrounding the stadium will be closed to all traffic on the day and there are no vehicle pick up or drop off areas on or near the stadium. There is a park and walk in operation– Sunderland Enterprise Park, no pre booking required.”

By road:

If travelling from North of the stadium: From the A19 follow signs for A1231 Sunderland, then yellow signs for Park & Walk.

If travelling from South of the stadium: From the A19 follow signs for A1018 Sunderland then signs for Park & Walk and use city centre car parks.

By Metro

There are two metro stations near Sunderland's Stadium of Light. If you’re wondering which is the best one for you to use, the stadium advises concertgoers with purple, red or yellow entry tickets to alight at the Stadium of Light metro station.

It adds: “Concert goers with blue, orange, platinum, green and accessible (pink) entry tickets should alight at St Peter’s metro station.
