A woman has died after she collapsed near a North Yorkshire beauty spot over the weekend.
Emergency services went to Carlton Bank, near Stokesley on Saturday, May 18, following reports of a collapsed person.
The Yorkshire Ambulance Service and Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team attended the scene on the Cleveland Way for two-and-a-half hours.
Sadly, despite the best efforts of staff, the woman passed away.
A statement read: "We were called out this afternoon by the Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust to assist them with a report of a collapsed person near to Carlton Bank. An air ambulance had also been called and attended.
"Upon the arrival of our team members, North Yorkshire Police were also in attendance, and we were advised that very sadly the casualty had been pronounced dead.
"Subsequently we transported the deceased person off the Moors, down to the roadside and into the care of the ambulance service. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased.
"Twelve Team members were involved for approximately two-and-a-half hours."
