The crew who produce ITV's long-running detective drama Vera were spotted along the County Durham coast this week filming for the shows final ever season.
ITV descended upon Seaham yesterday (May 16) filming new scenes for the final ever 14th season of Vera starring Brenda Blethyn, set to hit our screens in 2025.
The crew, including tech support were seen just north of Seaham Hall Beach by the cliffs at 12pm, with pictures showing a group of people and tents in place for filming.
Eagle eyed walker Susan James of Durham spotted the cast and crew whilst on a walk with a friend, and snapped some pictures of the set including Vera's infamous Landrover.
Susan said: "We were out for a long walk and wondered what was going on at the sea edge, so we had a walk along and saw that they were filming.
"We knew it wasn't there before as myself and my friend Stephen were out the day before. We were quite surprised!"
This month, crews have also been spotted in other North East locations including Northumberland.
Earlier this year, ITV confirmed Vera will return for a new series in 2025 and put to bed fears the crime drama had been axed.
The broadcaster made the announcement after the last episode of the North East-based show’s latest run aired in early January.

“I’ll be forever grateful to the wonderful Ann Cleeves who created Vera, and to Elaine Collins who saw fit to cast me in the role.
“The producers, dream cast and crew have been fabulous and I’m going to miss them, but I won’t forget their huge talent, the camaraderie, laughter or kindness we shared nor the friendship of the people of the North East and our fans worldwide. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
