PLANS to change the use of holiday lets to three flats and a ground floor office have been submitted to Durham County Council.
The property - Durham House, 8 West End, Sedgefield - is proposed for conversion of the current self-catering accommodation.
The sitew is an unlisted, albeit historic property located at the south-western entrance to the village green shown. It is a large property and a prominent feature within the conservation area which retains much of its historic character.

The building proposed for conversion is adjoining to the rear of the neighbouring property, 10 West End. A narrow driveway separates 8 and 10 West End resulting in only glimpsed views of this structure. 10 West End is a Grade II listed structure dating from the early 18th Century.
The project will provide three flats, with two on the first floor and one on the ground floor. The ground floor flat will provide a level access flat and is therefore suitable for an elderly or disabled person.
The two upper flats provide two-bedroom accommodation. Access will be from the rear where there is a sizeable private car-park, with foot access at the front of the building.
