A County Durham restaurant has announced its closure - but the owners have told customers that "it's not goodbye forever".
On Sunday (May 12), Aruvi in Spennymoor posted to its social media that it would be closing its doors with immediate effect.
Despite saying the closure was with "a heavy heart", the owners of Aruvi did follow it up by saying that the building that housed Aruvi would be undergoing a makeover.
The statement from the restaurant read: "With a heavy heart, as of tomorrow, we'll be closing our doors on Aruvi. Tonight will be the last night to order your favourite Indian dishes
"We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our amazing customers for your continuous support.
"But don't worry, it's not goodbye forever
"During our closure, we'll be undergoing a fabulous makeover. Stay tuned for updates in the coming weeks as we prepare to unveil our fresh new look and mouthwatering menu.

While it's not known at this time whether the venue will be undergoing a name change, and how the changes are going to impact the restaurant - it's safe to say customers were glad that they were coming back in some form.
One customer posted in the comment section of the announcement: "I was gutted for a minute there …bring on the makeover"
