A North Yorkshire town has been named the healthiest area in the whole of the UK in a study.
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has named Harrogate as the healthiest area in the UK - topping the scoreboard with a mark of 124.9.
The study, carried out by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) in 2021 scored towns and regions based off metrics including disability, frailty, mental health conditions and suicides.
In the end, Harrogate beat out Richmondshire, Hambleton and South Oxfordshire which also scored high health points.
Overall, the North East as a whole came out with an overall score of 93.8 - which is the lowest in the whole of the UK.
Middlesbrough scored one of the lowest health index scores in the country and faces "ongoing health challenges" according to the study.
But, the town with the lowest overall score in the UK with 76.5 was Blackpool.
Healthcare company BIOHIT said: "Blackpool, situated in Lancashire, has the lowest health score in England, acquiring a low rating of 76.5.
"This figure marks a concerning decline of 1.4 points from the previous year, indicating a deteriorating health trajectory.
"Notably, Blackpool’s youth face significant challenges in education, employment, and apprenticeships, as evidenced by a disheartening score of 60.3 in these domains, signalling a pressing need for targeted interventions to support the younger demographic."
