Local Elections 2024 results from Hartlepool, Sunderland, South Shields and Gateshead

Many counts have already begun across the North East after voters made their voices heard yesterday and took to the polls to elect mayors, councillors and Police and Crime Commissioners. 

Polls closed last night (May 2) at 10pm, and results for the Tees Valley Mayor, North East Mayor as well as Durham's Police and Crime Commissioner are expected to come in later today.
