A big-name brand has confirmed an opening date for its new store at a County Durham retail park- here's when.
At the end of 2023, rumours that high street name Wickes would be moving to St Andrew's Park in Durham started to circulate after plans were spotted on Durham County Council's planning portal.
Within the plans, a major new shop was planned for the retail site, which already boasts Wren, McDonald's, Starbucks, and several independent retailers.
Despite the company remaining tight-lipped about the prospect of moving to the shopping park over the last six months, an opening date has now been set for when the store in Durham will open.
According to its website, Wickes will be opening its St Andrew's Park shop on Friday, May 17 - however, no opening times have been issued yet.

St Andrews Park is located near Dragonville Retail Park, which has a host of big-name brands, including Lidl, Aldi, Home Bargains, Tesco and TK Maxx.
This will be the sixth Wickes in the North East, joining stores in Stockton, Sunderland, Wallsend, South Shields and Newcastle.
The new store comes after mixed fortunes for the high street brand, which closed down its shop in Darlington last year, while also announcing that it would be opening a new shop in Bishop Auckland in 2024.
