A brand new street food shop has opened within Darlington Market, taking over the premises of Bumble Crumble.
Haus of Bratwürste, managed by Matei Baran, opened yesterday (May 1) with a big opening night event.
Mr Baran described how guests stayed for hours and chatted while trying the Eastern European food.
They are providing an "extensive" menu but their staple will be Bratwürste.
Mr Baran said: "It's been a very, very good start.
"We opened yesterday. When I saw Bumble Crumble here I thought what a good place it was in.
"I had the idea back then but it's only come about after extensive talks with Darlington Market. The people here have been really supportive.
"Our customers have been really encouraging so far. Today it has been a bit manic we have been so busy.
"Everybody is enjoying the food and interested in giving us a go.
"People were here for hours last night when we had our opening night. Chatting and making friends.

The new store will be taking part in the upcoming Darlington Market Food and Drink Festival 2024 this weekend.
They will be doing a slightly limited menu over the weekend due to the festival but the full menu and fixed opening times will be sorted next week.
The property of Bumble Crumble in Darlington market was repossessed by the landlord at the start of this year in January.
A notice was placed on the door which makes it clear 'no one can lawfully enter the premises' without the landlord's permission.
The eatery first opened in June 2023 and rapidly became a hit in the town for being a tearoom with a twist.
The notice read at the time: "TAKE NOTICE that the Landlord has today re-entered Units 4 & 5 West Row at Darlington Covered Market, Darlington, DL1 5PL in accordance with the Landlord's power under clause 5.1 of the Lease.
"As a consequence of the re-entry , the Lease is forfeited and the premises have been secured.
"AND TAKE NOTICE that no one can lawfully enter the premises unless they have been given authorised by the Landlord.
"Any attempt to enter the premises without the Landlord's authority may be a criminal offense and result in prosecution."
